Preparing the SBA 8a application is NOT an easy task. Why? Because the forms, instructions and application are scattered across many websites. Some of the information is located on federal sites and some is located on commercial sites. It is not organized, so you need to be. In fact, it took me weeks to complete, but I got successfully submitted the online application. In about a month I received an email back from the SBA stating I needed to supply one more form and a social disadvantage narrative. Then my challenge was writing the social disadvantage narrative. If you were to look for guidance on writing the social disadvantage narrative, you would be shocked. This important document has no clear guidelines or criteria to follow. I knew I needed help.
